Box Card Directions

Courtesy of Jeanyne Bartle

1. Score a 1/2 sheet of CS at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4".

2. Fold in 1/2 and, with the fold at the top, fold the front back on itself at the score line to make the 'lid'

3. Mark the corners. I use a 1" square of CS cut in 1/2 on the diagonal. Do the upper left corner, the lower right, and the lower right corner of the 'lid'.

4. Cut off the corners: 3 layers on the upper left, 1 layer on the lower right, open and cut through fold on lower right of 'lid'.

5. Lightly pencil in the shape of the box with horizontal and vertical and diagonal lines, keeping as parallel as possible with the other sides.

6. Stamp your design within the sections, again keeping parallel with like sides of the 'box'. You can also use a brayer.

7. Sponge all the edges of the card and sponge the sections, masking in each section similar to what's done on a grid card.

8. Stamp a bow or add any preferred embellishments, i.e. organdy, grosgrain, cord, beads, shrink-it charms, etc.
